Following a residency in Japan by the Eindhoven artist Marielle van den Bergh a precipitation of the workflow and a book are presented in the library.

At the library blog of the Van Abbemuseum you can follow the expierences of Marielle van den Bergh and Mels Dees during their residency in Japan.

You are cordially invited to the opening on Sunday November 11th from 15.00 until 17.00.

 

Opening speech by Lydia van Oosten, project coordinator at the European Ceramic Work Center, ’s-Hertogenbosch

 

At the occasion of a residency at Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park in Shigaraki, Japan, by the Eindhoven-based artist Mariëlle van den Bergh in the summer of 2012, the library presents the book Hana (flower). This book records her working process and her partner’s, the Eindhoven-based artist Mels Dees, who made a new series of photo pieces based on material gathered in Japan. Until 11 January this process, together with the photos, will be exhibited at the library.

Opening times: Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00 to 17:00. The museum is closed on Monday, with the exception of public holidays. The museum is closed on New Year's Day, King's Day and Christmas Day. The Van Abbemuseum is open until 21:00 on the first Thursday evening of the month, admission to the museum is free from 17:00 on those nights. The museum cafe is also open until 21:00 on these evenings. We offer an internet connection via WIFI in the whole museum.
