- Giant Step Critical Regionalism: Eindhoven as a Common Ground 01/11/2012 - 03/11/2012 The Giant Step project aims to discover the place of institutions within contemporary culture. It involves two internationally established institutions, Van Abbemuseum and MOSTYN I Wales, and two that are less rigidly institutional, vessel (Italy) and Galeria Labirynt (Poland). The goal of the project is to establish what roles institutions can play in the cultural production of a specific area that responds to the needs of the area itself. This fourth and final workshop will be held at the Van Abbemuseum.
- Glow (Re-)discovering Eindhoven International Forum of Light in Art and Architecture 06/11/2010 - 13/11/2010 This year, the route of the Eindhoven Light and Art festival GLOW literally goes through the Van Abbemuseum. The artwork Infinity Mirrored Room – Love Forever (1994) by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama is placed in the museum hallway. This is a structure with mirrors and lamps in which the visitors undergo a very special, almost psychedelic experience! This space as well as the museum entrance, the museumshop and the Museum Café will be opened every day until 24.00 hrs. On Saturday 6 and 13 November you can even visit the rest of the museum until 23.00 hrs, there will be a reduced entrance fee to the museum (€5). For this fifth edition of the festival, the GLOW organisation has asked members of cultural institutions in Eindhoven to select the artists. Two curators of the Van Abbemuseum, Annie Fletcher and Diana Franssen, selected in total 5 artists for GLOW. Next to Yayoi Kusama the invited Mark Bain (USA/NL), Graham Hudson (GB), Navid Nuur (Iran/NL) and Cerith Wyn Evans (GB). http://www.gloweindhoven.nl/

- Glow in and around the Van Abbemuseum Hiroaki Umeda a.o. 05/11/2011 - 12/11/2011 Baltan Laboratories and the Van Abbemuseum present a new installation by the Japanese choreographer, dancer, lighting designer and artist Hiroaki Umeda. Especially for GLOW he has created split flow.
- Golden Party Opening performance Maja Bekan 05/02/2011 15:00 The first performance will be organised in collaboration Bekan's mother Divna Bekan and her aunts Dubravka Kurbalija and Darka Simovic. It will kick off the start of the project in The Eye and start exploring the genuine meaning of the title Secret Powers for Identity, Security and Self-Respect in Troubling Times.

- If I Can't Dance... Edition III - Masquerade: From Dusk Till Dawn Play Van Abbe 09/03/2010 - 21/03/2010 The closing act of Play Van Abbe - Part 1 will be performed by the curatorial platform If I Can’t Dance, I Don’t Want To Be Part of Your Revolution. From 9 until 21 March 2010 they will present the project Edition III - Masquerade at the Van Abbemuseum, simultaneously concluding their long term project Masquerade with this fourth and final episode. Serving as an ‘interruption’ into the programme of Play Van Abbe, Edition III - Masquerade temporarily interrupts the exhibitions regime. The programme includes a performance programme and a series of lectures as well as an exhibition of works commissioned for this project and works from the Van Abbemuseum collection. The participating artists and speakers include: Ruth Buchanan, Yann Chateigné Tytelman, Keren Cytter, Yael Davids, Jon Mikel Euba, Olivier Foulon, Luca Frei, Aurélien Froment, Joachim Koester, Suchan Kinoshita, Lars Bang Larsen, Maria Pask, Peggy Phelan, Sarah Pierce, Jimmy Robert and Suely Rolnik.Edition III - Masquerade will culminate in a performance event , From Dusk Till Dawn, from Friday 19 March until Saturday 20 March 2010.
