Anna Staritsky 1909-1981 - Works on Paper
Anna Staritsky 1909-1981 Works on Paper
This exhibition addresses the extraordinary graphic work of Anna Staritsky, both in book form and in free graph. Born in Russia Staritsky lived and worked in Belgium and France. The exhibition shows the creative and artistic growth of an artist who started as a classic illustrator during the nineteen thirties and subsequently developed into an idiosyncratic artist. With her innovative ideas about the shape and structure of the artist's book, she helped to shape the French book art of the sixties and seventies of the last century.
All works are derived from the LS collection of the Van Abbemuseum.
