Artist talk 2 artist talks - Heineken Prize for Art

25/08/2018
13:30 - 17:00

A conversation with the laureates

The Heineken Prize is the largest visual art prize in the Netherlands and has been awarded every two years since 1988 to an artist living and working in the Netherlands. Alfred Heineken implemented the price.

On September 27, the prize will be awarded to Erik van Lieshout, the 16th laureate. The anniversary exhibition in the Van Abbemuseum shows a beautiful and unique overview of Dutch art in the past 30 years. Highly recommended for the summer!

During 2 artist talks on Saturday afternoons you can meet a number of artists yourself. The laureates talk about what it means for an artist to get such a big prize, the Dutch art landscape, their inspiration and way of working.

A total of 5 artists will be interviewed in 2 afternoons:

On August 25:
Toon Verhoef (laureate 1988)
Guido Geelen (laureate 2000)

On September 8:
Job Koelewijn (laureate 2006)
Barbara Visser (laureate 2008)
Yvonne Dröge Wendel (laureate 2016)

You can attend the artist talks free of charge if you have a valid museum entrance ticket. It is necessary to register via the form. Via the button 'Make a reservation' above, you can register for the artist talk on August 25.
