DDW Music - Rachel Sermanni & Midas
DDW Music Rachel Sermanni & Midas
In addition to our exhibition Thing Nothing the museum is part of the new DDW Music programme during Dutch Design Week (DDW), from 17 until 25 October. Throughout the week, there are daily live performances in various locations in the city, free admission when you present your DDW passe-partout. More than thirty cutting edge artists will be performing at various locations in Eindhoven. The Karel 1 museum café of the Van Abbemuseum is one of the stages! Entrance via Stratumsedijk 2.
Programme Wednesday 21 October
18.00 - 18.45: Midas
This talented young guitarist can do a lot more than play the 6 string. He has an amazing voice with a huge register and knows how to write a damn good song as well. His 60s folk tunes are tight as a lemon and go right where you thought they’d turn left. Great stuff.
19.00 - 19.45: Rachel Sermanni
Folk-Noir balladeer Rachel Sermanni is on the road again, anticipating the release of her new studio Album, ‘Tied To The Moon’. Sermanni has an aura of mysterious greatness, reminiscing Eva Cassidy, Joni Mitchell, Bjork, Tom Waits, and PJ Harvey. Oh, how beautiful darkness can be.
