DDW Music - Charlie Cunningham & I Am Oak
DDW Music Charlie Cunningham & I Am Oak
In addition to our exhibition Thing Nothing the museum is part of the new DDW Music programme during Dutch Design Week (DDW), from 17 until 25 October. Throughout the week, there are daily live performances in various locations in the city, free admission when you present your DDW passe-partout. More than thirty cutting edge artists will be performing at various locations in Eindhoven. The Karel 1 museum café of the Van Abbemuseum is one of the stages! Entrance via Stratumsedijk 2.
The programme on Thursday 22 October:
18.00 -18.45: I Am Oak
I Am Oak has built an impressive track record since the release of their debut album. The band won a 3VOOR12/Award, they released albums in eight countries and they have toured in thirteen countries worldwide so far. No wonder Rolling Stone calls them “No less impressive than a Bon Iver”
19.15 - 20.00: Charlie Cunningham
Fans of Nick Mulvey, Jose Gonzalez, Ben Howard, and Dan Mangan take note: Charlie Cunningham will be your new favorite. What sets him apart from his colleague folkies, is the subtle Spanish influence in his songs. Enjoy his intense melancholy with a smile.
