Drag-up - the way beyond

Are you a regular tech geek, dreaming to dress up? Or a seasoned drag king, looking for an excuse to strut your stuff? All can come play at our 2019 monthly drag ups, here to save your soul and save you from what's 'Normal'.

Maybe Boozegeoisie is a drag queen from Den Bosch who has been putting on underground drag parties since 2016, with the purpose of creating an atmosphere of inclusion and play. Together, we bring you a next-level drag experience, with a series of themed monthly parties where you get to learn makeup techniques from drag divas, create your own drag personae, take selfies in front of the artwork, and hang with friends.

March: THE WAY BEYOND

This month we do drag “high-art-style!” Inspired by two rooms from Van Abbe’s The Way Beyond Art collection exhibition, we are mixing up our usual glamour makeup kits with surprisingly new unconventional materials and playful textures to help you explore a drag personae that reaches far beyond your imagination. Led by trend researcher, fashionista, and drag queen extraordinaire Cindy van der Loon (who may also manifest as “Paul”), this evening we’ll use the artworks to drag us into a whole new level of expression. PLEASE bring things to stick to your face/body/hair if you can, or just show up with your courage, shyness, and a blank slate (we will love you all the same).
