Drawing workshop Drawing in the museum rooms with Helen Storm

04/10/2018
19:00 - 20:30
Perjovschi versus Storm

Have you met Helen Storm yet? She traded Eindhoven for London for some years - who wouldn't with a name like that - but she is back in Eindhoven! This designer and illustrator mixes contemporary issues with memories in her own style. She loves drawing with others; with neighbours in her own living room, or with you in the Van Abbemuseum!

Helen is giving some drawing workshops on the first thursday nights of the month, and the first edition will take place on 4 October. For every workshop she picks certain themes, exhibitions, gallery rooms or artworks as a read thread. This first time she is inspired by the quick and sharp Dan Perjovschi drawings. We're going to play with spontaneous sketches, putting words into drawings and tell stories by using simple lines and shapes.

You're welcome! Overcome your fear of the white sheet, challenge yourself to draw in a different way, or maybe pick up your pencil after years. Experience is certainly not necessary. By drawing you experience the art by doing!

Practical:

  • From 19.00 to 20.30 pm
  • We will work with pencils and paper; you don't need to bring anything but if you want to work with your own materials, bring them!
  • There are only 20 places available. If you're too late for your reservation but are really enthusiastic about this, please e-mail to educatie@vanabbemuseum.nl; if we have enough people we want to plan a second workshop.
  • Costs are €5,- including museum entrance. Buy your tickets here!
