Echoing Symbols - workshop with Navine G. Khan-Dossos

Working with her own method of pattern making as used for her project Echo Chamber in Het Oog (a patio in the Van Abbemuseum), Navine G. Khan-Dossos will explore how to create a communal artwork drawing upon the signs and symbols of contemporary life that resonate with you as participants. She invites the group to submit symbols in their everyday life that they relate to or always see, even though some signs have become so common we barely notice them. For instance the WiFi symbol, sportswear branding, metro signage, religious or secular motifs, culturally specific icons or global technological logos. She will then create repeatable stencils from these motifs ready to be used in the workshop to generate a temporary large scale work.
