embroidery cafe - workshop embroidery
embroidery cafe workshop embroidery
From Saturday 21 December the museum will open the embroidery cafe! You can join the cafe five Saturdays to explore different embroidery techniques together. Each time there will be different experts demonstrating Afghan, Mexican and Japanese techniques, among other things.
These embroidery cafes are organized in collaboration with the Eindhoven Foundation Stichting Ik Wil. Ik Wil is a place where all kinds of people have been coming together for years to learn, do and create something together. There are no thresholds and everybody (but really everybody) can join.
In the exhibition Positions #5 a collective embroidery work is on show, made by women at Stichting Ik Wil under the supervision of artist Mounira Al Solh. The work is about Arabic words for love, and that will also be incorporated in the embroidery cafes.
Please note that the main language of the embroidery cafe will be Dutch.
€10,- per person, including museum entrance and therefore access to the exhibition Positions # 5, coffee or tea and sweets, and the materials you need for the workshop.
Participating in all five sessions costs €35,-.
