Francesca Grilli - Family - musical piece by 3 generations of 1 family

With great pleasure we invite you to the 7th and last performance of Francesca Grilli's Family on Saturday 18 March at 15.00 in the new building of the Van Abbemuseum.

In September 2015 Grilli started collaborating with the Wesselink de Barrientos family from Knegsel, a town near Eindhoven. The family, grandmother Anneke, mother Mirjam, father Rodrigo and (grand)son Gustavo, ranges in age from 9 to 83 years. They have done theFamily performance six times since September 2015. The performance is developed by Grilli and is linked to the collection of the museum, the notion of family and the architecture of the museum's new building.

In the past performances it became more visible how performing together made this family grow together even more. Anneke, Mirjam, Rodrigo and Gustavo created new relations to each other and to the collection of the Van Abbemuseum. For the last performance Grilli reflects on these changes with the family, which will result into a new setting to finalise the project. Also Anneke, who couldn't take part of the last two performance due to an operation on her vocal chords, will perform again.
