GLOW SPECIAL: ... in the dark - Van Abbemuseum x TAC during GLOW 2018

... in the dark by Van Abbemuseum and Temporary Art Centre (TAC) during GLOW 2018 shows a wide selection of works by Eindhoven, Dutch and international artists. This one-off exhibition in November is all about shadow in many shapes and colours. Because shadows are not just black. The exhibition takes place in TAC, opposite the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven.

There are works on show by Christian Boltanski, Kimon Kodossis & Louisa Zahareas, Tony Oursler, Ivo Schoofs, Sergey Rozhin, Vincent Thornhill & Filip Setmanuk, Thomas Vailly & Laura Lynn Jansen, Giuditta Vendrame, Albert Van Der Weide and others. 

THEME

The GLOW theme for 2018 is Shadows & Light: "Every picture has its shadows, and it has some light, blindness, blindness and sight". (Joni Mitchell)

No light without shadow, no image without content. With this theme, GLOW 2018 looks for duality. In practice it is not only about the ultimate contrast between black and white, but also about a lot and a little, inside and outside, sober and exuberant ... light and shadow. In the opposition the story is born, without contrast no experience. Without 'Shadows' and 'Light' we find ourselves in a grey landscape where life evaporates.
