Sunday 6 September is the 8th edition of The principle is simple: 30 arts and culture organisations in Eindhoven are having a open house on the first Sunday of September and offer an exciting glimpse into the new cultural season. For free! We organise several activities as well.
Dive into our collections
You can dive into the collection of the het Van Abbemuseum in the exhibition . In the old building you can find an entirely different collection: of the republic of France. Vive la France in the exhibition with over 100 artworks by international artists.
End of the Summer Sale @ Museum Shop
This entire weekend is your chance to get your hands on (art) books and design articles with great discounts! In our museum shop we have a large and varied collection of art books from Motta bookstore and the library on sale. And a great design sale with a.o. embroidered jewelry by Doreen Westphal with 50% discount and a special collection of bags by artist Griet Menschaert for only 12,50 euro! Furthermore disounts on a selection of designs by Lydia Bremer, Ball posters by Heleen Klopper and much more.
In the Studio of the museum we collect the objects that are selected for the project "My Thing". My Thing is part of the exhibition organised by Design Academy Eindhoven and the Van Abbemuseum during Dutch Design Week organiseren. "My Thing" shows the most valuable objects of local and regional people - and the accompanying story. Do you want to participate as well? Then send in a photo and story (max 200 words) of your object before 5 September to:
- Free guided tours: our cicerone will tell you more about the exhibitions. At 12.00, 14.00 and 15.00. Gather in the entrance hall.
- Live music: contemporary classical music in a concert by "Mangalam!" in cooperation with Axesjazzpower. At 14.00 in the Auditorium.
- Workshop in the galleries: Creative interventions with the artists of the Connecting collective. Between 13.00 and 15.00 in the galleries of the new building.
