combination of a lecture and guided tour

The 80s: why all the attention for a decennium that is viewed as a period of transition between two global systems? Before the fall of the Iron Curtain and the overwhelming influence of the Internet. A period that has changed our world fundamentally? The Van Abbe chose for this era because it celebrates its 80th anniversary this year and has placed this number on a festive pedestal. But has it truly been such a celebration in the 80s? The exhibition shows artworks and documents from different parts of Europe, on the places where countercultures arose.

In these lecture tours the components of the exhibition are thoroughly discussed. Unfortunately, these lecture tours are only available in Dutch.
