Listening evening: The Mondrian Machine By Frank de Munnik

01/06/2017
19:00 - 21:00

Please note: this evening will be in Dutch.

During the 1920s Mondrian was trying to develop a music machine in Paris, but this “Mondrian Machine” was never made. The development of a machine which made music and sound had started independently of Mondrian. During this listening evening we take a trip though the music of and by machines, from the first experiments to completely digital music, from Léon Theremin and Sgt. Pepper to Kraftwerk and Ryoji Ikeda – a search in sound for the “Mondrian machine”.
