Voltaire Onno Dirker in Het Oog

21/03/2016 - 11/09/2016

an exploration of time and space

Unfolding over six months Voltaire is an exploration of time and space. It begins with the empty space of Het Oog and then one element will be added; the metronome which determines the rhythm and passing of time.

As the project builds Dirker will stage a series of interventions and disruptions altering the rhythm and tempo of the space. The implementation of the piece is continuous, without interruption and never complete. Keep watching.

As the artist explains, Voltaire is an allegory on "the periphery of freedom”, a treatise on order and disorder, on friction and solace.

Onno Dirker lives and works in the Hague, working across a variety of disciplines.
