Color Field Augmented Viewing Study
From 21 February to 8 March 2026, KU Leuven and the Van Abbemuseum will host a special viewing study on the experience of abstract painting. In this study, we explore how visitors perceive and experience color field paintings.During your visit, we will use questionnaires, eye-tracking, and augmented reality (AR) to observe how you look at abstract art. This will help us gain a deeper understanding of what happens when people observe a painting.
