Radically Mine! 2027
Every student is an artist
The Van Abbemuseum wants to inspire and encourage creativity. This is done with the yearly project of Radically Mine! which works together with the youth. In this programme highschool pupils and students alike from the ages 14 till 21 are encouraged to make their own artwork, inspired by the museum’s collection.
All educational paths are welcome to participate: vmbo, havo, vwo, gymnasium, special education and mbo.
Radically Mine! 2027
During Radically Mine! We will think together, share, learn and create. Students are provided the freedom to research their ideas and convert them into art. They will be guided step by step in a diverse programme which includes a museum tour, inspirational sessions, guest lessons in school, individual creative activities and lastly an exhibition of their self created art. The theme will become known in September.
What will the programme look like?
November & December
We will start with a kick-off in the Van Abbemuseum. High school pupils and students will receive a combined introduction, inspirational sessions and a museum tour provided by a guide. In the hopes of them leaving the museum with new ideas and the feeling that they are innovative, young artists.
December till March
In this period museum teachers from the Van Abbemuseum will visit the school three separate times. Their goal is to guide the new young artists by helping them formulate their ideas and provide advice on how they will eventually make their artwork.
March
In March our jury will visit the school. The young artists are then expected to present their work to the jury so that a selection can be created for the final exhibition in April.
Kunstbende Wildcard
During the jury moment supplementary Kunstbende Wildcards will be chosen. Kunstbende is a national competition for creative young talents. Ten students will receive a wildcard from the Van Abbemuseum. This wildcard provides direct access to the regional final of the Kunstbende Noord-Brabant. By providing this opportunity we hope to stimulate the students and pupils to consistently work on their creative journey for Radically Mine!
