Inspired by the experimental Gutai artists of post-war Japan, Ei Arakawa-Nash invites visitors of all ages to contribute to a collective drawing installation. The work revisits an action presented during the 1956 Gutai Outdoor Art Exhibition in Ashiya Park, where children and adults were encouraged to draw freely on a large canvas. Blurring the boundaries between artist and audience, expertise and play, the installation transforms art-making into a shared experience. A lecture performance by the artist will take place on 28 November.
