Discover the largest artwork in our collection: the garden of the Van Abbemuseum

Start a discovery tour through the garden of the Van Abbemuseum! This special garden was designed by the internationally renowned Piet Oudolf. Between 4 March and 31 October 2025, you can pick up the Garden Tour Booklet (for children) for free at the Van Abbemuseum ticket office. The Garden Tour Booklet is a booklet in which you can learn everything there is to know about the animals, plants and insects in and around the museum garden through assignments.

The front garden of the museum was designed by Piet Oudolf (known for the High Line in New York): “I like to see the garden as a living painting.
