She developed twelve special Feldenkrais lessons based on works from the museum collections. The exhibitions and research form the basis for the publication I Am Going To Be Your Last Teacher – A Workbook (2023).

More about Yael Davids
Yael Davids is a performance artist. Over time, she found less and less pleasure in making performance exhibitions, because art institutions cannot deal with this well. At the same time, as a mother, she saw that her daughter's teaching programme and care were accompanied by (production) stress and uncertainty. Education and art seemed to lose the joy in creating, learning and discovering. From this experience, she shifted her view and became convinced that the Feldenkrais Method, which she initially applied to get rid of a back problem, had the potential to integrate art, learning and life in a beautiful way. She trained as a Feldenkrais teacher and simultaneously started research at the Van Abbemuseum, supported by the Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam, into the possible relationship between art and learning.
‘I am going to be your last teacher. Not because I’ll be the greatest teacher you may ever encounter, but because from me you will learn how to learn. When learn how to learn, you will realise that there are no teachers, that there are only people learning and people learning how to facilitate learning.’ – Moshé Feldenkrais, 16 juni 1975, San Francisco
