Free tour in Mandarin / 免费普通话导游

For Ima-Abasi Okon's new solo exhibition, we offer additional guided tours in Mandarin, Turkish and German. Design academy alumni will guide you through the exhibition with new and site-specific work, early prints and recent sound works. Tour guide Chongjin Chen is an artist now lives in Amsterdam. She is interested in qualities considered insignificant by our contemporary values, and responds to her life experiences and social dynamics with bold yet delicate imagery. 

The exhibition makes us reflect on how ideas of “improvement” were deployed to legitimise the appropriation of land-as in colonialism. Okon reveals how this way of thinking still permeates today's drive to improve and optimise our bodies. From their own disciplines and knowledge, the language guides respond as makers to the exhibition and the themes.

为伊玛-阿巴西·奥孔的新个展，我们特别增设了普通话、土耳其语和德语导览服务。埃因霍芬设计学院校友将带领您参观展览，其中包含艺术家全新创作的场域特定作品、早期版画以及近期声音装置。展览深入探讨了"进步"理念如何与个体、社会及政治产生关联，并将殖民拓居时代的"进步"观念（例如占领土地并工业化开发）与当代社会优化人体以适应工作的理念形成跨时空对话。
