Virtual tour Rewinding Internationalism

The exhibition Rewinding Internationalism explores developments, ideas and stories from the 1990s and how they resonate in the world today. The end of the Cold War, the AIDS pandemic and increasing globalisation brought about dramatic changes, also in the art world. What became of the questions and experiences of those days?

The exhibition Rewinding Internationalism will be displayed at the Van Abbemuseum until April 30, 2023.

Virtual Tour Gustav Klimt

The exhibition Face to face with Gustav Klimt can no longer be visited in the museum, but this virtual tour offers you the opportunity to view the artworks by Klimt and Bas van Beek online.

The Van Abbemuseum was the first in Europe to present a perfect reproduction of the famous 34-meter-long Beethoven Frieze by Gustav Klimt (1862-1918, Vienna). Artist and designer Bas van Beek (1974, Nijmegen) turned it into the resplendent centrepiece of an impressive museum experience. In this virtual tour, you can explore the works of Klimt and Van Beek through various audio and video fragments. Read more about the exhibition here.

Virtual Tour Parallel Lives, Parallel Aesthetics

The exhibition Parallel Lives, Parallel Aesthetics is no longer on display in the museum. With this virtual tour, you can still explore the artworks by León Ferrari and Gülsün Karamustafa.

Parallel Lives, Parallel Aesthetics uniquely combined two solo exhibitions in their own right: a large retrospective spanning the life of León Ferrari plus a poignant overview of the work of Gülsün Karamustafa. It brought to the fore various convergences and intersections between the work and lives of both artists, revealing the commonalities and connections between the two.
