Description

Spanner was a Collaborative Projects-ponsored publication that served as the group's answer to unchecked sociopolitical inequity and rising conservatism in the 1970's and 80's. A variety of black- and white works touch upon local and global topics. A four-page spread from Cindy Sherman features several of her Untitled Film Stills. A brief text from Jenny Holzer and Peter Nadin proposes direct action as a means of social betterment. Photographs from Anne Messner document her performances Wheelchair and Hitchhiking. Other contributors include Colab regulars Walter Robinson, Jane Sherry, Christof Kohlhoefer, and more.
