Jo Baer (Seattle1929) behoorde in de jaren '60 en '70 tot de pioniers van de 'minimal art', met generatiegenoten als Donald Judd en Sol LeWitt. De schilderijen en tekeningen in de tentoonstelling tonen Baers interesse in het Neolithische verleden: met steen, astronomie, schedelcults en voorouderverering als onderwerpen. Zij raakte hierdoor gefascineerd toen zij van 1975 tot 1982 in een Normandisch kasteel op het Ierse platteland woonde en werkte.
