Description

Gerry Schum filmed the results of eight artists’,works made in nature on his request. He broadcast, the footage in 1969 via Schum’s 'Fernsehgalerie' on,German television introduced by the artist and Jean,Leering (then the director of the Van Abbemuseum).

The footage includes Dennis Oppenheim filmed, from a great height, tracing the border between, the United States and Canada while riding a,motorized sled over the frozen Saint John River;,and Jan Dibbets’ ‘perspective correction’ inserted, into the TV frame to emphasize the medium’s,format, wherein a bulldozer with a plough creates,a trapezium shape across Scheveningen beach, making the beach tilt, and the trapezium a square.,The sea, ultimately, erases all traces.
