Description

The People’s Parliament of Rojava emerged from the first meeting between Chair of the Committee of Foreign Affairs in Rojava Amina Osse, international representative of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) Sheruan Hassan, artist Jonas Staal, and the core members of the New World Summit project, producer Younes Bouadi and programmer Renée In der Maur. Osse took the initiative for a commission to create a new public parliament, and Staal translated this into a first rough sketch: a circular space of assembly, dug into the earth to emphasize the fundamental relation between the history of Rojavan soil and its stateless revolution.
