What does art education look like? And could it be different? The Feminist School of Painting is an ongoing project by artist Ad Minoliti that forms part of Dommelplein. Through a series of four sessions, the School transforms one gallery space into a fictional yet functional classroom, aiming to reimagine art education. Instead of focusing on competition or preparing artists for the market, it creates a shared space for learning, collaboration, and creativity through the perspective of artists, thinkers and designers.

During the sessions, which take place in a gallery painted with murals by Minoliti, participants come together to exchange ideas and share knowledge. Starting from the history of painting, each session focuses on a different painting genre and includes a presentation, a workshop and a collective reflection.

The sessions are led by Wapke Feenstra (artist), Rosanne van Wijk (artist), Afaina de Jong (artist and architect) and Gabi Ngcobo (artist and curator). The Feminist School of Painting is free and open to everyone, regardless of experience or background.
